Lake Bolsena, Pearl of Tuscia

Il Lake Bolsena  is a lake in central Italy, located in northern Lazio, in the northern part of the province of Viterbo (Alta Tuscia). Formed over 300,000 years ago following the calderic collapse of some volcanoes in the Volsini mountains after the volcano-tectonic sinking of the area, it is the largest lake of volcanic origin in Europe.
